Cole  was the son of Benjamin Cole.  He was born 21 July 1890 in Boma, Putnam County, Tennessee.  He died 19 July 1970 in Cookeville, Putnam County, Tennessee.  He was buried at the Carr Cemetery in Hickey, Putnam County, Tennessee. He married Ellen Phillips  in October 1908, at Boma, Putnam County, Tennessee.  She was born 10 October 1890 near Boma, Putnam County, Tennessee.  She died 4 April 1977 in Cookeville, Putnam County, Tennessee.  She was buried at Carr Cemetery in Hickey, Putnam County, Tennessee.
