Today, there are over 3000 documented descendants of Joseph Roberts. Every 4th Saturday
in June, the Descendants of Joseph Roberts hold a reunion at the Boma Community Center in Boma,
Tennessee. The Boma Community Center stands on the property where the Boma School once
stood. Many descendants of Joseph Roberts attended that school. The reunion is open to all Descendants of Joseph Roberts (from Roberts Switch, TN) and their families. We always enjoy a great pot-luck dinner and especially the fellowship with new and old family members. We have volunteer family members who tell of family or personal history. We sometimes have entertainment from volunteers, as well. We hold a short meeting and give great homemade prizes to people who have traveled the greatest distance to get there, the oldest person present, the youngest person present, and the person who has the greatest number of family members present who are descendants of Joseph Roberts. After the activities are closed at the Boma Community Center, Tours are available to local cemeteries where family members are buried. This reunion has been a success and we plan to make it even better. Join us next year and find out about it for yourself! |
